8 favorite tv shows
Despite the whiny tone in the previous post, I really did have a great birthday. In part to this lovely card from Hannah. She painstakingly numbered each petal in the flower and told me if I kept the card she would make the 41st petal on it next year. I wanted to share her good penmanship and creativity with you all.
I came home from work on my birthday to this great suprise. For months I have been planning on painting and redoing the upstairs bathroom. The procrastination must have got to someone. So on Thursday, Stacy, Josh and Morgan picked out paint and painted and redecorated the bathroom. I love the color scheme that they chose. It looks very classy now. I plan on putting up a valance and a new light fixture. I have booked my electrician (Leslie) for that project. She is really quite good and changing out light fixtures.
Thank you to all that participated in the bathroom project. It is much appreciated and what a clever idea for a birthday gift. By the way I think the project was done in a matter of 2 hours. They are pretty good are they not?
On Friday night we went out for a little Wingers. Little did we know that they were having and all-you-can-eat wing fest. All of Andrew's dreams had suddenly come true. Andrew planned on eating 30 wings by himself. I don't think he succeeded in his goal. We think they made the wings especially spicy so that you really could not eat as much as you would like to. That is our theory anyway. My mouth was a burnin.

Leah got a hold of several knives at once. She looked a little like Edward Scissorhands flinging them all around.

They were so cute. I wish everyone could have seen them in person.
Little Alice in Wonderland. Talk about a professional Trick or Treater. She was determined to get her candy. She did it by me strolling her from house to house. When we got to the steps she would get out and go up to the house with the rest of the kids and in her loudest voice yell " Trick or Treat". I started reminding her to be careful as she was climbing stairs and going up curbs etc. I did not want a sad Alice with a scraped knee. She started yelling back at me, "Sara, watch I am being careful". It was very cute.
Catching up on a little cousin time. If these 2 are ever in the same city you will always find them together. They seem to be inseparable. Just as it should be.
I tried a new recipe of cheese fondue. I thought it was quite yummy. I had to adjust the recipe a little bit. I hope to use my fondue pot on a regular basis. It was actually quite fun.
It was such a beautiful day on Saturday that we spent quite a bit of time outside. Since Leah mastered her push toy she thinks she is good enough to push Esme in the stroller.
She picked us up at the airport on Thursday afternoon and then we did a quick tour of Google. There are actually a few Google campuses and we went to the one in Kirkland. They had lots of free food around and they have chefs that make what you want for lunch. Of course they get massages and free dry cleaning and they can bring their dogs to work. I wish that IHC would adopt some of these great perks. 
On Friday Alex had to work so she dropped Janene, Darcy and myself in downtown Seattle for us to make our way through the city and see some of the sights. She then picked us up and we all went to the Space Needle. It was very cool.
We took the elevator ride to the top. We zipped up there in just a matter of a few seconds. Darcy and Janene are both afraid of heights. They didn't want to look out at this great view but they were brave and overcame. Janene asked this lady to take our picture, which she did that all weekend, and then they realized they knew one another from high school. Small World
Earlier that day we were dropped of at Pike Place Market. It was big and there was definately a lot to chose from. The thing I liked most was the Honey Crisp apples. YUM!
Lots of beautiful flowers and fruit. I thought the flowers were a good deal but not so much on the fruit. I thought it was more expensive than you would get here at a grocery store. I thought markets were supposed to have good deals.
Lots of fish. Couldn't really buy any. No way to get it home although they do say they would ship it, for a small fee.
Later we went to the Seattle Art Museum known as S.A.M. It had a variety of every type of art. They had this exhibit along with 2 large totem poles. This thing kind of freaked me out. I guess it is really a native American costume.
They had a porcelain room filled with china. It was very cool. Stuff from all over the world and every Asian and European country. This was a definite favorite.
This was a huge robe made from dog tags. The artist was not making a point of war or death but only of identification. There was a guard that would stand very close to it. My toe came to about within 2 inches of it and the guard got a little excited.
Later that day we went on a tour of the harbor on a tour boat. It was much more fun and interesting than I thought it would be. The city is huge. Much larger than SLC. I knew that but I didn't realize by how much. So we cruized the harbor and did a circle through the harbor and the harbor then turns into the Puget Sound. 
Believe it or not I never felt one drop of rain the whole time I was in Seattle for the weekend. It looks here like it would rain but it never did. It was beautiful weather.
I was completely fascinated by these monstrocities. These are shipyard cranes that load the cargo off the ships and onto trains or trucks. What animal do you think they look like?
Kind of looks like something out of Star Wars doesn't it?
This flag was on the back of our tour boat and I loved how it was just blowing in the breeze. 
We visited a lavender farm that of course was not in bloom anymore but I did find some in this planter that was still blooming.
This was a cliff that we found near Sequim and looked over and lo and behold there was the Pacific Ocean in all of it's majesty.
We went on a little beach hike overlooking the coast. This is Janene and Darcy. Alex was hiding or something.
No beautiful sandy warm beaches. Just dramatic large cliffs. It was just as enjoyable though.
We then found a little seafood restaurant with this little view. How quaint is this? I ate oysters for the second time. I don't like them any better than I did when I was a teenager. Oh well that is what adventure is all about right?
This was apparently a lighthouse. We would have had to hike out 11 miles to see it up close on a little jetty. We opted for this view.
